Press Release Summary = Industry's most advanced handheld system for cleaning and maintaining HD screens now available
Press Release Body = VISTA, CALIF. September 28, 2006 - InnoTide International introduced a unique cleaning tool specifically designed to clean delicate HDTV display surfaces. The InnoTide team designs innovative products for the consumer electronic industry and targets OEMs, distributors and resellers seeking value-added and complementary solutions.
The all-in-one HDTV cleaning system features an integrated fluid reservoir handle with spray nozzle fused with a groundbreaking microfiber foam pad. The unique design ensures proper pressure is evenly distributed across the surface of the screen and the built-in spray head guarantees a thin, even spray is applied as needed. The combination of the specially-designed cleanser and absorbent pad perfectly eliminates dust, smudges, and fingerprints without scratching or damaging the protective layer of the HDTV. It also includes an adhesive hook for placing behind or near the display to remain out of sight, yet accessible when necessary.
"As High Definition LCD and plasma screens become common appliances in homes and business, it is important to help consumers ensure long-term proper care for their delicate and expensive displays," noted Robert Virgin, product director at InnoTide. "Unlike their predecessors, which featured glass screens, LCD, plasma and projection HDTVs are coated with plastic or acrylic-type material and are susceptible to scratches, swirl marks, and damaged pixels because consumers just don't know any better."
According to the HP website, "A special antiglare coating is applied to the screen of HDTVs. Using solvents such as alcohol or abrasive material such as a paper towel, may affect the screen coating or bezel paint."
Unbeknownst to most consumers, typical household fabrics and improper chemical cleaners are actually abrasive and ultimately damaging. If the coating is scratched or damaged, it may be impossible to repair. Manufacturers consistently recommend against alcohol or ammonia-based cleaners because repeated applications of alcohol on plastic will turn the screen surface yellow, make it brittle, and cause stress cracks.
